MiniSafe for Blackberry

I found MiniSafe when I found GridMagic. Both applications are made by Simprit who is on the right track to making great and very useful Blackberry applications. Its basically just like password keeper by RIM except it offers more customized. Ex: you can store passwords, credit card numbers, cell phone numbers, calling card numbers, etc... and use a search function to find them all. Plus if there is not a field available for something you want to keep safe you can create your own storage type.

I couldn't find the officially price for the app while browsing from my phone but you can download the trial version ( which is fully functional ) OTA at the link below.

Review: GasBuddy.com & GasBuddyToGo.com

I recently came across the mobile website GasBuddyToGo.com and its parent site GasBuddy.com

Here, you can check gas prices anywhere, anytime from your mobile phone. I decided to take it for a test run while on the run.

The site asks for a city, state or a zip code/postal code to find a gas station but the results returned blank. The only link available was for the home page.

I logged in (Thinking ahead, I registered on the site) and it gave me only 2 gas stations in my immediate area along with the ability to enter new prices. (NOTE: you need to get a login from their PC site in order to post prices from your mobile)

I noticed on the GasBuddy website that there is the ability to text message or email GasBuddy and have the results of up to 5 gas stations sent back to you. The text and emailing capabilities are free services but your phone provider may charge for texting.

I would recommend this to our CrackBerry Addicts only if you want to use the regular website on Opera instead of the mobile website.

Take GasBuddy for a test drive (pun intended) at gasbuddytogo.com from your mobile browser (hey, maybe it'll work for you) or at GasBuddy.com from Opera Mini.

GridMagic Review

GridMagic is a great application. Its extremely efficient and quick, so far I haven't experienced any lag from the program and it offers everything necessary for your excel needs. It can open files directly from your email and can also easily send files via email. I personally am not an everyday excel user but I have used it enough to be able to tell you that this will be a great program for anyone who uses excel on a very common basis. Iv also used E-office which runs for 99.95 USD and also includes an excel program, personally I believe that GridMagic is by far a better and more convenient program then the one included in E-Office. Although GridMagic doesn't offer as many programs as E-Office it runs for only a fraction of the price (19.95) and if the only thing your missing for work on your blackberry is an excel compatible program that's fast and efficient than I have to recommend GridMagic to you. For the quality you can't beat the price. There's a free version and a commercial version that you can buy. The free community version is completely capable of full filling your need but is less efficient and some capabilities are left out that are more for convenience than anything, such as zooming in and out, freezing cells and a few other things. Yet its still a useful tool, free version or not, so be sure to at least give it a try. To download GridMagic OTA from your blackberry browser simply visit the following link.

I give GridMagic a 4.9 out of 5

BenchMark Magic

Benchmark Magic is a free tool from Software for Blackberry. Its essentially just a speed test for your Blackberry. Its a pretty simple application that tests your graphics (polygon render speed) and your cpu speed then it gives you a speed index so you can compare your blackberry to other types of blackberrys. Benchmark magic is not a necessity for your average blackberry user but if your a true Crackberry addict your probably interested in giving it a try.

Mario For Your Blackberry

I found this on a post on the pinstack forums its a recreation of the old super mario Nes. Its actually pretty good but its not written fully in english I'm not really sure what language it is but its easy to make out what the menu screen says because its partially english. Its made by Giana Sisters and its decent quality. If you grew up playing the old nes or just wanna try it out for the heck of it visit the link below from your Blackberry browser for OTA download http://wireless.getjar.com/mobile/quick_download/8100 I can't remember the controls off the top of my head but I'm pretty sure there the usual. 4 2 6 and 8 and 5 changes the options on the main menu. Just a for warning the sound won't turn off with the game so you might want to turn the sound off in the main menu. Or you'll have to reopen the game and turn the sound off to get it to stay off.

All an all I give this game a 3 out of 5

Berry-a-Code Review

Berry-a-code is a great tool that currently supports over 275 US, 24 Canadian and 20 Caribbean area codes. When an incoming call comes in from a number that you do not have saved in your phone book Berry-a-Code replaces the place that would normally support a phone book name with a City and State so that you might have a better idea of who's calling you. Maybe family from out of state in Pittsburgh, PA. This is a great tool that's subtle but effective. Some people have reported that certain area codes didn't work during the time of release but I'm sure its either fixed by now or soon to be. Berry-a-Code also has the option to have the City and State show in the call log on your blackberry which is good for if you miss a call.

Berry-a-Code is a great tool I give it a 5 out of 5

Beyond 411 Search Review

Beyond 411 Search is a great tool. I use it almost every day, its an extremely easy tool to use. Simply type in the name of a business and it returns information such as phone numbers the addresses of local offices of that business or restaurant etc... Beyond 411s interface works intuitively with your blackberry by being able to click on a search result and either call it or get directions to it from either your home, office or other address or your current GPS location. It uses access to internet yellow pages to search for results and 99% of the info I got back was correct. Beyond 411 is very fast and seems to be very stable as well and works on all current blackberrys. The program uses quite a bit of bandwidth so an unlimited data plan is recommended for use. To download beyond 411 on to your blackberry mobile device simply visit http://thebogles.com/b411.jad from your BB. I give Beyond 411 a 4.0 out of 5

Note: the pictures shown are an example of an older version of Beyond 411 taken from blackberryfreaks.com found on google image search.

Blackberry JiveTalk Review

Iv been using jivetalk for quite some time now. aprox. 3 weeks, iv heard that it destroys your battery if you stay logged in but iv never stayed logged in for more than an hour or so when talking to people. So I put it to the test. I stayed logged in over night unplugged from the charger and in the morning the battery was almost completely drained. So yes its a juice hog, but besides that its probably one of the best all in one IM programs available out there for your Blackberry device. With a low price of 19.99 for activation on a single Blackberry or 29.99 for use by one user but can be reactivated later on another BB if you plan on upgraded to another Blackberry soon. The only real instant messenger that is competing with jivetalk is IM+ and for its 49.99 price tag its definitely not worth the extra fee. So far jivetalk has worked flawlessly for me never booting me out of any accounts and can log you into just about every instant messenger service out there all at once including myspace IM and google talk and of course AIM Yahoo and ICQ are all available. A type of bubble talk is used when in a conversation so its easy to distinguish who is talking. On top of all the great features Jivetalk has a 30 day trial period so you can test it yourself. To test it out just go to http://www.beejive.com/index.wml on your mobile phone find the appropriate download and start your trial period. I give Jivetalk for the blackberry a 4.0 out of 5
